SSW stands for Specified Skilled Worker
Purpose:
Allow foreign nationals to work in 14 designated labor-shortage industries in Japan.

- SSW1: Maximum 5 years, no family accompaniment allowed
- SSW2: Unlimited stay, family allowed (for skilled/experienced workers)
Requirements:
- Japanese language proficiency: JFT-Basic or JLPT N4+
- Skill test in relevant industry (e.g., food service, care work, construction)
